Bicycle-friendly University

Óbuda University announces a student competition in the following areas in order to create a bicycle-friendly university:

1. Designing bicycle storage
2. Designing logo for bicycle-friendly university

1. Announcing bicycle storage designing:

Óbuda University announces a competition for students at the University for bike storage design, which will promote the university of suitable bicycle storage and worthy of the university’s premises.

Aim of the competition:

The aim of the competition is to allow students of the university to store bikes safely. We expect ideas that are unique, creative, and containing new elements for bicycles storages, that shows the institution’s commitment not only to promote cycling at the university, but stand their ground as storage and as a design object. It can be designed to any campus, educational or dormitory building, either with open or closed top. Applicants can apply with a separate plan, or with a design plan and manufacturing technology joint plan.

Conditions: Applications must be submitted by a student with active or passive status at the Óbuda University, who accepts the conditions required for the application itself.

Deadline: 13 November 2017, 16:00

The Evaluation Committee does not evaluate proposals received after the deadline for submission. The applications that do not comply with the conditions in form or content the Evaluation Committee can exclude without justification.

Evaluation deadline: 20 November 2017

Every competitor will be notified separately of the competition results and the date of the award.

Competition technical requirements:

The requirements of a bicycle storage design, which is connected Óbuda University, may be manufactured more than once, at least five bicycles can be stored in it, and it can be placed on a 1700mm * 2500mm table plate, both assembled or disassembled and in transportable state. The connection to the university has to be shown (logo, abbreviation).

Application:

Every student of the Óbuda University can apply. The correct application contains all of the following documents without absence:

1. Application paper (filled online, then printed and signed – The Mobility Department can help you to fill in the form)
2. Copyright Statement (printed and signed – The Mobility Department can help you to fill in the form)
3. Presentation and description of the bike storage. Please specify in detail, how the intended object is connected to the University (handed in online).
4. Blueprint or picture of the mock up (minimum 300 dpi resolution) (handed in online).

The application should be sent electronically to the email address: egedi [dot] nikolett [at] ka [dot] uni-obuda [dot] hu. The electronic material shall include a signed, scanned application form, signed, scanned copyright statement, presentation material and the design documentation.

The mock ups should be handed in at Students’ Offices (if there is any).

Remuneration:

The competition has a total prize  135 000 HUF (scholarship), the amount of the first three places divided as follows:

• 1st place: 70 000 HUF
• 2nd place: 40 000 HUF
• 3rd place: 25 000 HUF

2. Announcing designing logo for bicycle-friendly university

Óbuda University announces a competition for students at the University for logo design, which will promote the image of the university’s bicycle-friendly aspect, the support of cycling and the university in general.

Aim of the competition:

The aim of this competition, keeping in mind a bicycle-friendly university, is to create a logo, which can promote later cycling programs. Any logos can be designed, which can present both the feeling of traveling by bike and Óbuda University’s spirit.

Conditions: Applications must be submitted by a student with active or passive status at the Óbuda University, who accepts the conditions required for the application itself.

Deadline: 13 November 2017, 16:00

A representative logo has to be made, which will promote the feeling of traveling by bike and Óbuda University’s spirit. The applicants have to hand in their designs in AI or EPS format, which can be multiplied and edited electronically.

Every student of the Óbuda University can apply. The correct application contains all of the following documents without absence:

1. Application paper (filled online, then printed and signed -– The Mobility Department can help you to fill in the form)
2. Copyright Statement (printed, signed – The Mobility Department can help you to fill in the form)
3. The logo in the vector graphic image

The application should be sent electronically to the email address: egedi [dot] nikolett [at] ka [dot] uni-obuda [dot] hu. The electronic material shall include a signed, scanned application form, signed, scanned copyright statement, presentation material and the design documentation.

The mock ups should be handed in at Students’ Offices (if there is any).

Remuneration:

The design competition has a total prize of 30 000 HUF (scholarship), this amount will be paid to the winner.
