Óbuda University is the number one practice-oriented technical University in Budapest, Hungary. The engineering and applied science departments and programs are among Hungary’s oldest with 130 years of rich tradition. Óbuda University's engineering sciences, applied arts, business and management degrees give the students the edge in their career.

Óbuda University has 4 campuses in Budapest, one campus in Szekesfehervar and one campus in Salgotarjan. Budapest is a lovable and liveable city, one of the best destinations to study abroad and offers an unforgettable student life.

Székesfehérvár is an ancient, historical city located 60 km from Budapest. For the past few years Székesfehérvár has become one of the most dynamically changing cities in the region due to its continuously expanding industrial potentials. The city has an excellent geographical location thanks to the developed transport to the most popular tourist destinations such as Budapest, Lake Balaton and Lake Velence.

Outstanding achievements at national and international competitions

ÓU students are involved in professional practice at our foreign partners annually; aside from the institution receiving numerous foreign students for full or part-time education.

ÓU students have great achievements in several national and international competitions, such as at the Spaghetti Bridge Building, Design Challenge Robotics Building, Bosch Electromobil, Mitsubishi-Scholarship, Pneumobil, Shell Eco-marathon, Hajós György Mathematics and PLC Control Engineering Programing Competitions.

Competitive research profile

Óbuda University has 8 internationally recognized research, innovation and service centers including Antal Bejczy Center for Intelligent Robotics (iROB), Bio-Tech Research Center, Physiological Controls Research Center and SmartLab Center. We currently have one of the most significant robotics research facilities of the region, which includes state-of-the-art infrastructure for medical, industrial and general service robotic applications. Researchers collaborate in more than 20 EU scientific projects, the number of scientific publications is 1,200 yearly.

Vibrant and intimate community

Óbuda University has approximately 12,000 students, over 500 are international students attending more than from 53 countries. Social life and student services are available to build social networks and may include professional hubs such as scientific workshops, media focus groups, info labs, student’s union, or math programming. There are also cultural clubs, outdoor excursions or sports clubs to choose from.

Óbuda University organizes programs for incoming students regularly during the semester. Programs include Welcome Week, International Nights, Semester Closing Party, Thematic Cultural Programs, and Faculty Visits, Company and Factory Visits and various excursions in Hungary.
